The Mexico Oil & Gas Seminar: Farmouts & Service Contract Migration took place on 11-12 May in Mexico City and evaluated the prospects for Round 2 within the context of the results achieved in the first four calls.

We thank the fantastic speakers who delivered frank, high-level presentations which lead to truly engaging Q&A sessions and open debate. The absence of media also contributed to an environment of inclusive discussion inviting participants to ask real questions and examples.

Conclusions drawn from the seminar include:

  • Mexico has undertaken thorough reforms and opened its regime for private investment
  • Its initial steps have reflected caution and care
  • However, it is clearly committed to private investment as a key part of its oil and gas future
  • Expect much more activity and opportunity in the coming months and years
  • Expect early lessons to lead to improvements in award and regulation
  • Companies interested in international oil & gas opportunities need to give attention to Mexico because it is a proven, attractive resource state

We look forward to seeing you in Mexico again soon! For upcoming Seminar opportunities please contact:
